Minutes of November 12, 2006 Meeting

The fall meeting of the Dairyland Tin Lizzies was called to order at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12 in the Public Meeting House building at Old Falls Village in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin by President Keith Gumbinger.

Carol Gumbinger moved to dispense of the reading of the April 2, 2006 meeting minutes. Pete Humphrey seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Jim Hess moved to accept the minutes of the April 2 meeting as published in The Buzz. Shelly Humphrey seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Copies of the Treasurer’s Report were distributed by Treasurer Adam Doleshal, with a current checking balance of $1,467.40. Kevin Bruso moved to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Bob Wirth seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Webmaster Carol Gumbinger reported on the club website. In the absence of Newsletter Editor Dan Schultz from the meeting, Carol reported that future copies of The Buzz will be emailed to members with email addresses.

Old Business:

Kevin Bruso reported on the "Waterfall Tour" he organized over Memorial Day weekend in northeast Wisconsin and the Kingsford, Michigan area. Nine Model T’s participated.

Jim Rodell, Jr. reported on the ice cream social at the Carriage Factory Museum in Mayville held June 25.

Pam Zangl reported on Old Falls Village Days held June 25.

Bob Wirth reported on the Model T Ford Club International tour held July 16-20 in Clear Lake, Iowa. Over 400 Model T’s attended. Bob & Alice won an award for their 1915 omnibus.

Jim Rodell, Jr. reported on Flivver Fest held July 22. Ten Model T’s visited David Uihlein’s private collection and "Railroad Park". Jim Rodell, Jr. moved to donate $50.00 from the treasury to Milwaukee Light Engineering Society in support of Railroad Park. Rod Prinsen seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Jim Rodell, Jr. reported on Model T Day held at Wisconsin Automotive Museum August 19. The event attracted 27 Model T’s, over 160 Model T rides were provided, and the food stand sold out. Next year’s event is scheduled for August 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Adam Doleshal reported on the Hill and Valley Tour and events held in Cross Plains on September 16, sponsored by the Wisconsin Capital Model T Club.

Jim Hess reported on the Mill Tour he organized near the Wisconsin/ Illinois border held September 30- October 1.

President Keith Gumbinger reminded members of the new policy adopted at the April 2, 2006 meeting to provide an incentive of $25 per day of touring for tour planners.

New Business:

National Events

President Keith Gumbinger reminded members of the Model T Ford Club of America board election, and read campaign letters from Joe Fellin, Dave Loving, Keith Robinson, and Reginald Urness.

President Gumbinger read a letter from Gary & Marti Hays, encouraging members who know Russ Furstnow to write nomination letters for him to receive the Rosenthal Award.

President Gumbinger announced plans from the Model T Ford Club of America to be held July 21-26, 2008 in Richmond County, Indiana.

Local Events

Adam and Christine Doleshal volunteered to host a club Christmas party during the month of January at Harnischfeger Park as they have done the past two years.

Tin Lizzie University will be held the afternoon of Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Vrana Frame & Body Shop in West Bend.

President Keith Gumbinger announced that he has reserved a booth for promotion of the club at the Winter Parts Swap to be held Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Washington County Fair Park.

The Gerrits family volunteered to organize the meeting place for the spring 2007 meeting at the Union Hall in Horicon. The Gerrits will provide lunch after the meeting, and will unveil the 1925 depot hack they have been building the past two years.

The club will participate in Old Falls Village Days on June 23 and 24, 2007.

Model T Day at the Wisconsin Automotive Museum is scheduled for August 18, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Shelly Humphrey expressed interest in holding Flivver Fest at Waterloo Firemen’s Park again, and will organize the event Sunday, July 29, 2007.

Adam Doleshal mentioned that some members have expressed interest in boarding the high speed car ferry from Milwaukee to Muskegon and attending the Model T Ford Club International Annual Tour in Grand Rapids, Michigan July 15-20, 2007.

Bob Wirth announced that he and Tod and their families will organize an event on September 16, 2007 to coincide with the thresheree held at Richfield Historical Park, site of the restored Mayer’s Mill.

President Gumbinger reviewed the Chapter Happenings newsletter from the Model T Ford Club of America outlining future national tours and the 2008 Centennial celebration.

The meeting adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
