The Dairyland Tin Lizzies chapter invites
you to join the “Wonderful Wisconsin” MTFCA 2022 National Tour to be held June
19-24, 2022. Tour headquarters
will be the Radisson Hotel in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. We look forward to
sharing the quiet country roads, beautiful scenery, history and cuisine which
make southeast Wisconsin a great place to live, visit, and enjoy Model T’s!
Tour Highlights:
Saturday, June 18th and Sunday, June 19th: Registration will be open. Pick up your tour packets and explore the city of Fond du Lac on your own. Our week of fun kicks off Sunday afternoon with a meet and greet Model T car show. A BBQ will be served in the evening and is included in tour fee.
Monday, June 20th: Tour to the Road America Racetrack in Elkhart Lake. This world-renowned road course has hosted the Nascar Cup Series, Xfinity, Indy Cars, SCCA and many other highly coveted races. The track is situated on 640 beautiful acres. An official Pace Car will lead our T’s onto the track and guide us for two laps around this 4-mile, 14 turn road course. Admission to Road America and lunch are included in tour fee.
Tuesday, June 21st: Tour south to the Schleisingerville / Slinger historical museum. Drive the winding roads through the Kettle Moraine with the opportunity to visit Holy Hill. Lunch will be served in Hartford’s beautiful and historic Chandelier Ballroom. We will visit the Wisconsin Automotive Museum, home of the world’s largest collection of Hartford-built Kissel automobiles and trucks. Lunch and admission to museum included in tour fee.
Wednesday, June 22nd: Tour along Lake Winnebago, making a stop at a local creamery that doesn't have cows. We will tour to the Wade House, a restored 1850’s stagecoach inn between Fond du Lac and Sheboygan. This 48-acre site includes a working sawmill, a working blacksmith shop, a carriage museum and more. Enjoy a scenic horse-drawn carriage ride on the grounds. Museum admission and lunch are included in the tour fee.
Thursday, June 23rd: Tour along the eastern edge of Horicon Marsh to Mayville, a hidden gem. Mayville boasts two historical societies to visit: Mayville Limestone School Museum and Hollenstein Wagon Factory Museum. Explore Horicon Marsh Visitors Center and a private car collection featuring Ford flathead V-8’s. A picnic lunch of German bratwurst and hamburgers will be available for purchase at the Pavilion on the bank of the Rock River.
Friday, JUNE 24 Tour north to the Experimental Aircraft Association Aviation Museum in Oshkosh. This museum shows the progression of flight from the very beginning through modern times. Visit Basler Aviation, a facility specializing in DC-3 and C-47 airplane restorations. Museum admission and lunch is included in tour fee.
Friday Evening Closing banquet with awards. You’ll want to be there!
